EKFB was proud to support Pebble Brook School in Aylesbury at their annual end of term summer fair ‘Pebblefest’ recently. We partnered with Plantforce, a leading construction equipment rental company, to bring along a virtual plant simulator for students to experience what it is like to operate construction machinery.
Our SEE coordinator, Laurie, demonstrating how to use the plant simulator
David Miller, head teacher says “We were delighted that EKFB and Plantforce could join us at the school. Apart from pupils having fun on the simulator it is a great experience for them and their families to find out more about what’s going on around them”
The school was also raising money for the charity HistioUK on behalf of a young local boy, Theo, who was diagnosed with a rare form of Histiocytosis. So far, the school has already raised £1200 for the charity.
Head of Engagement at EKFB, David Griffiths-Allen was on hand to deliver some virtual driving tips to the students on the day “It’s great to be getting back out into the communities and you could tell that the students here had a brilliant time celebrating the end of what has been a challenging year for all. The response we had to the simulator was amazing to see, the concentration and natural talent some of the students showed we hope may lead to future career in construction”
Throughout the project EKFB will have opportunities available from work experience and apprenticeships through to supply chain and office-based roles and we welcome anyone with an interest to visit our website to find out about our recruiting process.
