EKFB present cheque Cheque Presented to Cherwell Theatre Company

On Monday 19 December, our 2022 Charity and Community sponsor, EKFB, a civil engineering team made up of Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall, presented the cheque of £2226.66 to Cherwell Theatre Company – The winner of the CBAs Charity and Community Award.

Cherwell Theatre Company is a creative home for young theatre-makers in Banbury and the surrounding areas. It exists to give young people a sense of self-belief, wellbeing and value by bringing them together with professional artists to make theatre. Through a varied programme of theatre productions and drama projects, Cherwell Theatre Company offers a vast range of drama based opportunities to inspire, train, nurture and develop children and young people of all backgrounds and abilities. It also strives to produce ambitious, innovative, accessible and relevant theatre for the community.

The funds were raised at the CBAs Gala Dinner and Award ceremony, which took place on Friday 16 September at Bicester Motion.

Nicki Stevenson, Joint CEO of Cherwell Theatre Company, said:

“We were absolutely thrilled to win ‘Charity of the Year‘ at the Cherwell Business Awards this year. Being recognised for the work we do to support young people’s well-being and access to the creative arts in our local area is such an achievement for not only our team in the office, but for all of our brilliant freelance team and our board of trustees. We feel so honoured to be presented with this financial contribution, which will go towards keeping all of the activity low-cost and free to those who need it most, especially in this increasingly challenging time. Thank you CBAs!”

Elena Gonzalez, Social Value & Legacy Manager for EKFB, commented:

“It has been a pleasure for EKFB to support this worthy category at the Cherwell Business Awards. As part of the judging process, we have met with a number of charities across the district and seen first-hand the great work done locally to improve people’s lives. Cherwell Theatre Company really stood out for its outstanding work with young people in Banbury by providing an arts provision that removes barriers and tackles inequality. Well done on winning the Charity of the Year Award.”
