EKFB celebrates its apprentices

EKFB’s Apprentices account for 4% of the EKFB workforce, of which, 25 are currently based at EKFB’s ‘A422’ construction site near Brackley in Northamptonshire.

EKFB’s Managing Director, Sally Cox, visited the apprentices to meet the students and learn more about their apprenticeships

This cohort joined the HS2 project last year and are between 5 and ten months into their 18-month-long apprenticeships of practical on-site learning.

The cohort covers a variety of trade apprenticeships, including carpentry, groundworks and steel fixers, learning from their peers on the job.

Works manager, Colin Dunkerton, commented: “Apprentices have a fantastic opportunity at EKFB/HS2 to learn a trade in the construction industry and this also gives the individuals a great start in their construction career. Personally, for me it is a pleasure to engage and pass knowledge and experience onto the younger generations of our team.”

The apprenticeships are supported by EKFB’s six labour providers: Carmichael, Reliable Contactors, VGC, Danny Sullivan Group, Venesky-Brown, and McGinley.

EKFB currently has a range of opportunities available for apprentices across different areas of the business, for more information, click this link to visit the EKFB careers page: https://careers.ekfb.com/.
